The story so far: WePlay’s 2024 successes stacking up
It’s already mid-May and there are an array of exciting new projects in progress for the talented team of Players here at WePlay, so we’ve had little time to share some of our major accomplishments from the year to date…
So let’s quickly recap some of our 2024 success stories so far, with the premium global sports partners we’re always delighted to be working with.
Refreshed brand identity and website
For World Curling we proudly unveiled a refreshed brand identity and website for the Winter Olympics Federation. The new identity and website are part of a transformation ahead of the forthcoming Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, which will take place in 2026.
Meanwhile, we kicked off our fifth year in the Octagon in style with our partner the Ultimate Fighting Championship. As the global digital media agency for the UFC Fight Pass, we drove substantial subscriptions through hyper-targeted advertising, during 12 electrifying events in Q1.
A monumental milestone
Leading the social media strategy for the European Club Association, we helped them reach a monumental milestone of 500 member clubs. For The IRONMAN Group we continued the streak of sold-out events with two new sell-outs, including the Mozart 100 (a trail running event in Salzburg, Austria) and the Istria 100 (a trail running event in Istria, Croatia).
We also continued the global activation of our ‘We Are Racing’ brand campaign in Q1, helping SailGP to maintain record-breaking event attendee growth year-on-year. That success has been acknowledged with the ‘We Are Racing’ global brand campaign becoming a finalist in The Drum’s Marketing EMEA Awards, in the prestigious Sports category.

A talented team of Players
We’d also like to take a moment to acknowledge the fantastic work between our clients and our talented team of Players over the past year in global football; with notable partnerships with RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain.
This has led to WePlay being nominated for another Agency of the Year award at the Football Business Awards and we’re also proud to have been named amongst iWorkinSport’s Most Attractive Employers in Sport for 2024 – the third year running that we’ve achieved such an accolade.
