Award-winning sports marketing agency WePlay has been appointed by UK Sports TV broadcaster Premier Sports, the new home of Guinness PRO14 Rugby.
Premier Sports will offer sports fans exclusive live, repeat and highlights for all 152 Guinness PRO14 Rugby games, after securing a landmark three-year deal with PRO14 Rugby earlier this year. The leading Irish sports broadcaster will also provide fans with exclusive NHL and NASCAR Monster Energy Cup coverage following the success of the International Champions Cup tour this summer.
The appointment of WePlay follows a successful campaign between WePlay and Guinness PRO14 Rugby, a Premier Sports partner, where WePlay led the digital marketing strategy and contributed in delivering a record Grand Final attendance.
Shane Hogan, Head of Marketing at Premier Sports, said: “We’re delighted to be signing with WePlay before the start of a key season for Premier Sports. We now have 152 live Guinness PRO14 games this season and we needed a great digital partner to help drive awareness and results. Already in a short space of time working with WePlay, we can see their ability to identify key insights and creative routes which will help deliver for rugby fans.”
It has been a successful summer for the fast-growing sports marketing agency where the agency has doubled in size following appointments from a plethora of new rights holder and brand clients, including PGA European Tour, Ryder Cup, EuroLeague Basketball, FIBA, Threshold Sports and Benchmark Sports.
Kenny Ager, Client Services Director at WePlay, added: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be working with Premier Sports across their sports portfolio for the next season. We’ve invested significantly over the last few years into creating a unique value offering to the sports industry’s direct-to-consumer businesses, helping to grow their audiences and revenues through digital marketing. Our new partnership with Premier Sports also follows a major growth period for our agency in the TV broadcast and OTT video marketing sector.”
Premier Sports TV is available on a subscription basis for £9.99 per month on Sky and on the Premier Sport player. For more information visit www.premiersports.com.
