WePlay and Laureus partner to deliver the Laureus Sporting Moment Campaign (2000 - 2020)

Laureus is a global organisation that celebrates sporting excellence and uses the power of sport to transform the lives of children and young people.

WePlay were appointed by Laureus to come up with an engaging, social-first campaign for the Laureus Sporting Moment Award – their flagship Award – to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

WePlay were appointed by Laureus to come up with an engaging, social-first campaign for the Laureus Sporting Moment Award – their flagship Award – to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

Approach


As the only award voted for by the fans, WePlay focused on worldwide awareness driven through an integrated creative campaign. WePlay proposed revamping the original LSM setup and ‘gamifying’ the format and content distribution to engage both an existing and new global audience. Combining the power of creativity and storytelling, with paid, owned and earned media, WePlay’s strategy resulted in a campaign that travelled the globe and engaged even some of the biggest names in sport to participate with it.

The campaign over-delivered, with a worldwide reach in key target markets, as well as engaged from an array of global sports stars, accumulating in a campaign that delivered above KPI numbers of fan votes, web traffic and social engagements.
