About the Role
We are seeking a self-motivated Account Manager – Performance Media to own the day-to-day planning, delivery and optimisation of paid media campaigns, for several of our key accounts including SailGP.
As the Account Manager, you’ll ensure the campaign runs efficiently and delivers exceptional results for our clients. You will wow clients by executing data-driven, paid media strategies that meet their business goals and anticipate changes. The role will be responsible for creating full-funnel campaigns across platforms such as paid search, paid social, display, and programmatic. You’ll be the day-to-day expert on campaign delivery, optimisation, and insights.
Working alongside WePlay’s strategists, creatives and analysts, you’ll ensure the campaigns perform optimally and exceed expectations. You’ll also collaborate with the wider team to foster knowledge sharing and stay on top of emerging media trends and tools that benefit your clients.
Key Responsibilities
Client Services:
As part of the WePlay Client Services team, you will build strong relationships with clients, serving as their main contact for performance campaign-related matters.
- Understand clients’ goals, objectives, and challenges to provide tailored, data-driven media solutions.
- You’ll be responsible for account management admin and will ensure the successful onboarding of clients and projects via Monday.com.
- You will be the main POC for the client and will address client enquiries promptly and professionally, managing expectations around campaign progress and performance.
- Contribute to the creation of engaging presentations and reports that showcase campaign success and suggest future opportunities and relevant insights.
- Support the Account Director by ensuring all account management processes are followed and documentation is kept up-to-date and accurate.
Campaign Delivery:
- Lead the planning, execution, and optimisation of performance media campaigns across paid search, social, display, and programmatic.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Strategy, Creative, and Analytics to deliver integrated campaigns.
- Monitor campaign performance daily, using analytics tools and make data-driven recommendations to improve results.
- Work closely with the account director to determine channel selection and budget allocation based on client KPIs.
- Provide clients with regular campaign performance updates utilising WePlay’s proprietary reporting and data visualisation dashboard ‘The Bench’.
- Ensure campaigns stay within budget and are delivered on time, flagging any concerns about resourcing or delivery to the Account Director.
- Execute tests (e.g., A/B tests) to refine campaign performance and provide meaningful insights to both clients and the internal team.
- Providing clients with data-driven insights and actionable recommendations.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during campaign delivery, identifying solutions to keep campaigns on track.
Planning:
- Create detailed media plans and timelines to ensure campaigns are delivered in line with client expectations and agency workflows.
- Keep updated on industry trends, competitors, and platform updates, using this knowledge to enhance campaign strategies.
- Explore new media channels, platforms, and technologies to offer innovative solutions that drive campaign success.
- Work closely with the team to document plans and strategies, ensuring all members are aligned on priorities and execution timelines.
- Managing day-to-day paid media operations (e.g. reviewing bidding strategies, negative keywords, audience exclusions etc.) across all paid advertising channels including but not limited to LinkedIn, Google, Meta and YouTube closely with the team to document plans and strategies, ensuring all members are aligned on priorities and execution timelines.
- New campaign creation including ad copy/creative optimisation.
- Familiar with audience segmentation and targeting.
- Creating campaign reports, utilising our reporting dashboard, ‘The Bench’.
Knowledge Sharing & Team Collaboration:
- Participate in regular meetings with internal teams to share performance media insights and best practices.
- Proactively share knowledge and contribute to marketing initiatives about new technologies, platforms, or trends that could enhance WePlay’s industry reputation.
- Collaborate with specialists across the agency to further your understanding of digital and sports marketing and how it evolves.
- WePlay Knowledge Share – encourage team collaboration by actively engaging in group discussions and helping others understand the intricacies of performance media campaigns.
About You:
- Proven account management experience with a focus on managing performance media campaigns, including paid search, social, display, and programmatic.
- Strong understanding of major media platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads) and performance analytics.
- Data-driven and analytical mindset with experience using tools like Google Analytics, social media analytics, and third-party reporting software.
- Experience in optimising campaigns based on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as CPA, ROAS, and CTR.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations.
- Passion for staying up to date with the latest media trends, tools, and industry innovations.
